I was super pleased to discover that Mendel’s Art Supplies was still open in the Haight, so made a beeline there while we were up in San Francisco for Xmas.
The base fur is “Punky Muppet” Granite color. This is a premier faux fur, 1.5″ pile, that is dense enough to shave down to shorter lengths as needed. I’ll use this for most of the costume
This is ash “cuddle seal” which I may use for some places where I need really short, dense fur, like perhaps on the palm side of Rocky’s paws.
Step one of the whole project was printing out the pattern template onto card stock and then tracing that onto the foam. Monday, still no power, so I took a large bag of parts to work so I could use my soldering bench there. I got leads attached to all but one of the remaining pieces of LED strip for the costume, and finished the wiring harnesses to connect to the power distribution from the upper back….
