Bullwinkle J Moose begins

So like most projects, you start with research. Which in the age of Goggle and the internet makes research very easy. There is no lack of images of the famous cartoon moose online. The original TV cartoon version is all one color brown, a very dark brown, one might even say a chocolate brown. Which makes Bullwinkle a chocolate moose, knowing Jay Ward’s love of word play and puns I doubt this was by accident. The basic design is man shaped, a baggy torso, skinny arms and legs. moose shaped head, and white gloves.

The internet provided a foam template for a 3-D horse head. Squint a little, add some antlers, and voila a Moose. Fake fur fabric for the torso, matching velvet fabric to skin the head once I build it, a chocolate color catsuit to wear under it all, and white gloves all ordered. A quick run to the local fabric store for the foam and craft paper. Template downloaded and printed out.

Next step, laying it out on the foam and cut, cut, cut, glue, glue, glue. Stayed tuned for next weeks episode!
