Starting assembly on the first mask

October 7, 2024

Using a gap filling superglue (Bob Smith Industries Insta-Cure Plus *), I did most of the rough assembly of the first skull in an evening, following along with Steve’s demonstration in the Youtube Video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LKYCmaZ2uE&ab_channel=SKSProps)
He goes pretty fast, so there was lots of pausing and rewinding going on.

The superglue was cranky to work with, but the speed of assembly was gratifying. The parts I cut from the template did not completely match the pieces he had in the demo video, but all the edges are going to get sanded, shaped, and have foam clay added, so the differences are not critical to the end product.

Actually quite happy with how this is going.

*we had freeze-framed the video to see what glue Steve actually used in his demo.
