Fixing those pink shorts
I realized the little pink shorts (To which I’d applied the cutie marks), even with the extra ease added by the hook-and-eye closure, and even if closed at the original position, had a poorly installed zipper in the fly and it was never going to lie well.
I had a roll of plastic web rhinestone belting/trim, so I took the roll and a hand sewing kit along to Oakland and on Friday (Oct 4) whipped up a faux tied belt for the shorts so the “bow” end would camouflage the wonky fly.
(The shorts waistband is also too tight*, which is evident from the performance photos, so a hopefully better pair has been ordered for future occasions. I’ll probably transfer the faux belt to them)
*The rest of the shorts are slightly stretchy, but the waistband has no give to it at all. It’s a shame, as the overall fit wasn’t bad and they’d have been pretty cute if the waistband and fly weren’t so bad.
