Bullwinkle Torso build!
So I cut out and sewed the furry fabric for the Bullwinkle “tunic” torso piece.

So I used an old sleeveless workout shirt as a pattern. I knew this fit and I didn’t mind cutting it up for a good cause.

By cutting both shoulder seams and one side seam, I had an easy to follow pattern.
I flopped the fabric over to the not furry side, used a silver sharpie to mark the pattern and used my good scissors to cut out the material. Sorry I forgot to take pictures. But I left it “inside out” and used some clothes pins to hold the material edges together and started basting the seams by hand. I just turned on some old “Wild Wild West” episodes on TV and worked away. The shoulder seams came out so nice and neat, I just decided to do the side seam by hand too. Honestly I was more then a little nervous to use the sewing machine with the furry fabric. I know there are “tricks” to sewing it. But I had such a small amount to do, by hand was fine for me.

I think the furry fabric and catsuit
are a good color match.

Test fit over the base unitard
and the “Marching Band” gloves.
So I’ve got most of the body portion of the costume done, the final piece of course is the “mask/head”. I worked in the reverse order from Kevin, who did his head piece first and is now working on his body suit. It’s a race to CostumeCon 42. Tune in next week for our next exciting episode!
