Tyrannical Space Pirate!

Brutus Maximillius is the villain in the point-and-click adventure “Escape from Pleasure Planet”
The character art was done by my friend Joe Phillips, so when Bill Howard asked if I’d be the villain in a recreation of the “throne of skulls” panorama from the losing scenario in the game, I jumped at the chance.

I also set out to build the “real world” version of Brutus where he doesn’t have the cloak and is carrying a Really Big Blaster.

This was my first project in EVA foam and I’m thrilled with the results; combining it with my existing leatherwork skills resulted in a lightweight and quite sturdy result. The breastplate and pauldrons are based on Evil Ted’s Vampire Hunter armor patterns.
